I looked the these also in the sheffield store, The labels do indicate whats wrong if anything at all is wrong
I was amazed that some of the label read, torn skirt, used but need reproofing, pegs missing, broken pole amongst other reasons for return
I couldn't help but think how long had people being using these awning for to need reproofing, to have lost all the pegs and to tear it
surely they would only be returned for a genuine fault and if the awning was torn Towsure would return it to the manufacturer, or are people buying them, and returning them to get a refund and free use of an awning, or is it me being cynical???
no, dont think youre be ing cynical at all, same thought crossed my mind as well,
if they were manufacturing faults then you would have thought they would have been returned to manufacturer. if they were damaged by the user then, towsure must have been verry generous in offering replacements for snapped poles or missing pegs.
went to towsure today and picked up one for £49 instead of £99 as it was marked,we had a look at it and there were a few black marks on it but otherwise brand new so hopefully got a bargain, not to worried about marks for that price, asked if we could return it if there were any other problems with it and they said yes so well pleased
They are well worth buying, we save lots buying our insignia full awning from Sheffield Towsure the only fault the guylines were missing but it had never been used. Some people just return them because they aren't the colour look they were expecting.
Just a little retail info here if it's any help.
When I was retailing and importing merchandise we were offered a discount if we dealt with all returns, it was an attractive discount and we found it worth taking, this meant that we could not return anything to the manufacturers. This may be why Towsure are dealing with their own returns, by reselling them at basically cost price, therefore they didn't really lose much in the end.

How cynical implying customers use items and return for no reason, surely we could not be duped in this way?
Sometimes we are a little "amiable and/or generous" on returns when we could refuse to accept as non warranty returns. As a retailer you are on a hiding to nothing, if you do refuse you end up on here listed top of the forum in bright lights "Towsure are at at at at "
How refreshing it is to see consumers backing the retailer, as UKTech has indicated usually these products usually will be an imported product that can not be returned.
In any case the customer is happy and a shrewd purchaser gets a bargain, we don't get the bad reputation, everyone's happy!
