We are considering investing in one of the above but are unsure which one to go for. We know that Omnistore are more expensive but does that mean they are better quality?
Has anyone seen either of these on display anywhere?
Can't offer you a comparison but I have a fiamma. bought second hand for £70 and really pleased with it. The plastic stops on the horizontal poles packed in which appears quite common - I drilled mine out and put an airbed plug in the hole to secure it, works fine. The only thing to consider when buying either is to get one as wide as you can as rain will drive in from the sides which defeats the object if you are buying one to leave shoes and chairs outside.
Tonkarav - where did you see the Ominstore and did you see a Fiamma before you bought it?
I have also read that you can buy (and i've seen some on sites) mess panels that act as sun/rain blockers. I had saved a website that sells them but its disappeared from my saved 'favorites'. Any ideas about these please?
Lassie, we saw the Omnistore at the Birmingham show ladt year. We also saw the mesh thingy which ee decided to get this year, havent tried the mesh thing yet but it is very lightweight and packs up small.
We got ours from the website below, they were very helpful on the phone - we werent sure what size we needed - delivery was quick. Overall the service they provided was very good.
Thanks for tht Tonkarav - thats the website i'd saved but my link doesn't work.
The other issue we have is how the bag fits over our awning light. We have the bulk head style light. How does the bag fit over your light? We would have to have a 3m size so that it doesn't go over the light but we'd like to have a longer canopy - 4m.
We bought a used fiamma for £50 but have only used it once. I agree that it is hard to roll up. It does flap in strong winds but there are rafters that can be had. We bought some shock absorber pads from camperlands. We are debating whether to get the zip sidesand front.
We bought an Omnistor as it was on special offer, I did not like the plastic end parts that went against the caravan side so bought two of the rubber suckers that are used on some awnings. Still never had it on the caravan, advertised it and got messed about by a tyre kicker. My 3metre omnistore has been mounted over my French double doors at the rear of my house, perfect when the sun is shining.

When we had ours we bought the sides. They are very difficult to zip up and you need to take a step ladder. The other big problem is they suffer from condensation.
We had a Fiamma and loved it, we found it really easy to roll up and never had a problem with it in the wind although never had any gale force strength ones when we used it.
The reason is that the Fiamma panels are just ok whereas on the Quest they are much brighter, the windows are huge and the material is proper awning quality, we sold our porch awning, full Isabella awning and fiamma as the Quest does the job of all 3 and we used to have to swap them around depending on which one we wanted up.
Only downside to the Quest is that it's much heavier and more tricky to put up than the Fiamma but still up in 5 minutes.

I do like the look of the quest. How easy is it to roll up?
If you've been struggling with your Fiamma to roll up then you will find the Quest more difficult, it's heavier and definitely a 2 person job, we much preferred the simplicity of putting the fiamma up however the Quest is much sturdier once it's up.
On the quest the legs are separate poles with a long pin on the end which slots into the crossbar so my husband has to hold the bar above his head while I slot them in, it's also quite stiff to tension the roofbars, we've only had it a couple of months though and are finding it easier each time, to tension the roof now I push against the crossbar (away from the caravan0 and OH stretches and clicks the bar peg into the hole.
Lassie, the bag does not interfere with the awning light at all it is only about 4" in depth. No probs whatsoever and we dont have any problems rolling it up. One person at each end and its easy.
It depends where your awning light is Tonkarav. Ours is above the door and i don't think there is 4" between the awning rail and the light but i'll measure it.
