hi for some reason we are getting small dints in the side of our caravan ,we have it parked at home and it is not stones in the road ,has any one got any idea on why these dints keep coming, thanks x
We had a problem once with a clumsy leaflet dropping person, they had a heavy bag slung over their shouldre with the leaflets in and they were quite careless as they tried to rush through between the car and caravan to get to our door, even though theres a reasonable 2ft6ins gap inbetween, they still managed to bang the side of the caravan with their bag.
The other possible culprit is more self inflicted, and thats the flying bits of debris from your lawnmower or strimmer, and this is also a common one whilst out on some sites, especially those with loose chippings on the hardstandings and grass that needs to be cut right up beside it.

Me to,i find dings that have never been there before,i realise that they can happen without you knowing when erecting and taking down your awning, but i have had them appear and i havent even put our awning up,????? anyone have any ideas!
hi alpiner we dont have any grass to cut and the caravan is parked down the side drive,a tall wall at one side of the van its only happened at one side of the van but everyone has got them so im not so worried now ,thanks for your reply.
i was at york one time stood at the van door and the grass cutter sprayed stones over three caravans including ours.just remembered one time a lady had a lucky escape pitched next to us.the sit on motor grass cutter picked up a thin tent peg and just after she got out of the car this peg went through the front windows of there volvo and took a chunk out of there vanmaster caravan at the front.we seached and found the peg in the grass.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
We've got one or two from the mower, my OH was convinced it couldn't be, until one day I was in the van when he was mowing and 'whack'.
Now we use a large piece of cardboard which our t.v. came in, it is opened out and leans along the side of the van whilst mowing it gets shuffled along as we mow to protect it.
We do have one or two at the top and I sometimes wonder if the straps from the lorries do it when you overtake, some of them do seem to be rather long and flap about a bit.

It could be children years ago our van kept getting small dings in the site we found it was our youngest resting his bike against the van. Tony
That's exactly what happened to ours! Little s*ds!

The other possible culprit is hailstones, we were shown around the inside of a neighbours caravan where the hailstones has not only left a mass of tiny dents in the roof, but had left small 'star' cracks from the impact with their rooflight.
Sometimes its possible that you get small dents whilst out and about towing, but you dont actually notice them until your caravan is parked with full sun onto the damaged side.
