I have had 3 caravans the last being an eccles, i then have had 4 motorhomes. i have just changed back to a caravan,an Lunar Lexon 560.
3 weeks ago we went to the lake distic from Banbury without a problem but today while traveling to cornwall i have had the wagging the van. i would normally travel at 60 mph, this time after reaching arround 50-55 it starts.
the van was loaded in the same way i have allways done without problems. now in cornwall but not looking forward to friday when we travel to monmouth.
any one know off problems with this van, or could it just have been the wind on the M5/a30.
The only time we have had a snake-like experience was westbound on the M5 in windy conditions. There are sections of the road with ruts worn into it by heavy traffic. If you get a heavy gust of wind - or are overtaking/being overtaken by a large vehicle and you coincide with some ruts, it isn't nice!
Made us very careful about noseweight, loading, tyre pressures, wheel nut torque, etc. Our 'van at the time was a Lunar Solar, but this was the only memorably bad towing experience we ever had with that 'van.
Had same problem at that speed with our outfit, just experimented with loading putting more weight on front, had to work on it as our's seem's low on the front anyway even though I'm well under noseweight .
Hi johnbow, as posts above, about loading, nose weight, van tyre pressure, is the kerbside weight of car high enought to tow the weight of van, the recomendation is the van should weight 85% of the cars kerbside weight, if you are still apprehensive about your forthcoming trip, you could check the tow cars suspension, as shot suspension can give similar results in some instances.
Hope you get it sorted, good luck.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.
Check everything but particularly check your tyre pressures. The unit has been stable so should remain so.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
