Hi.
If I am not mistaken most of the two clubs sites close after this weekend. My question is is that it for you. We are going away for seven days on Sunday is there anyone else carrying on.
seeing as we dont really bother using club sites, we use cl/cs mainly then yes we carry on as and when work/weather/family allow.
but after taking a look im not sure where you got the idea that most of them are closed for the rest of the year from, everything i have looked at remains open as normal
I do not have anymore planned/pre-booked trips between now and March 2022 except for the days between the Bank Holidays.
Very much weather/schedule dependent, in that if schedule allows and the weather is nice as in dry with light winds, then I shall take the van out for a couple of nights close to home.
As for the trip in December, I was advised to book so as to secure a particular pitch in case it gets busy on the advice by the site. No booking fee, and cancel anytime - they know it is weather dependent and I have been there a few times so they know me.

Yup. Booked at one of the independent Edinburgh sites in late November, because short days or bad weather don’t matter there, so much to do. “Castle of Light” tickets bought; may go back to another site for the Botanical Gardens Christmas lights too.
Salisbury C&CC near me has extended their opening period now that they have added quite a few more hardstanding pitches in their lower field, and I may pop in there for a couple of nights if schedule/weather allows.

We have several trips booked all at independent sites which stay open all year.
Next week we're going to the site that DK168 visited with the VW club recently so look forward to comparing notes.
We're then booked into Bath in November, Looe in December and Cardiff in January mostly to attend gigs and/or to meet up with friend.
Nothing booked after that but I'm sure we'll get a few more in between then and Easter. Even in winter we like to get away as much as possible. No point in the van just sitting on the drive!
No, going to a CL in Oxfordshire for a week from 14/11, 3 weeks away (1 in Cornwall) over Christmas, at least a week over Easter and any others when the weather looks ok.
We have one more trip booked in November but due to work commitments and then spending Christmas with my family in Northern Ireland, we won’t be out again after that until February.
I wish I could start counting down the years to retirement but that would just depress me too much as it still seems a long time away!
As our budget for holidays is used up for this year, that is definitely it for us. We never go away in this country in the cooler months anyway. When I was working we often had a week in Spain during November or December, but that all had to go when we retired.
Our caravan is now laid up until at least next spring.
All being well, we'll be 'away' for New Year. When I say 'away'.... We'll be in our van on a site about 2 miles from our front door 😄.
We've got visitors for Christmas, and we don't really 'do' New Year's Eve, so we're meeting like - minded friends for a few quiet days away from everybody....

What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it's all about....?
What we don't really "do" is cold. For us there is simply nowhere better to be in the colder months than in our warm cozy home with all our possessions, cable TV, record collection etc all around us. No having to go out in the cold and wet because the water's run out or the toilet needs emptying. Our caravan is warm and cozy on the inside, but we wouldn't want to be stuck in there all day in a cold and wet December, nor would we want to be going out to empty the toilet when it was freezing cold and the rain was hammering down.
Even if we could afford it, which we can't, we wouldn't want to be stuck in a caravan when we could have a whole warm house to stay in. Somehow rain in summer is different. We don't mind leaving the caravan on a wet day in July, because at least it's warm and everywhere is open. As for quiet, well it would be difficult to find anywhere quieter than home. Especially at night here you could hear a pin drop on a shag-pile carpet, if we had one that is.
I agree Colin, we normally go out the last time in November to Kingsbury Water Park C&CC site for 4 or 5 days so I can go to the Classic Car Show at NEC.Then that's it until March.
Wife drops me off and collects me at NEC as parking is a rip off and she can use the car.
We are off to Spain soon for a 2 week sun break to celebrate me being 70! Going by air not towing.
We had 2 good weeks at the end of September in Yorkshire with good weather so put the van into store. Back out in March as it will be serviced so we usually use it afterwards.

Not been to that particular Classic Car show Dave I'll have to look it up. I'd go by train for the day though as it's free for me being a retired train driver, and it only takes a couple of hours.
We used to love flying to Spain in the winter to get away from the cold for a week. We both absolutely hate it. So lovely to walk along the sea-front in December with the temperature in the mid-20s. We didn't want to come home to freezing cold Britain.
Maybe that's what we would do if only we could afford it. Spend the winter in Spain and only come home once the weather warmed up. Only thing is we would miss Christmas with the family.
A day of all things motorhome and campervan. The show is held both in the main indoor arena and across the grounds. Catering, hot drinks and food options are available. Easy access to the site and free parking included. Win one of five pairs of day tickets
