We recently got upgraded to a super pitch site for our caravan which was great apart from we didn't have any connections to take full advantage off... Since then I have been looking at what is required but the one thing that I can't find out is how much waste hose I need for these pitches. The last one had a drain very close to the caravan so a couple of foot would have been ok but can anyone suggest a good length of waste hose that should cover most sites.
Many Thanks.
I have a shorter (4ft) and a longer (10ft) length and a black connector that I can use to link the two together if required. The grey waste hose hardly weighs anything so you can afford to carry a lot of it to cover every eventuality.
Have learned that lesson after arriving at a site where the drain was about 12 foot from the van and I then had to wait a coule of days for the camping shop to open before I could take full advantage of my super pitch.
I carry a couple of 2m lengths of rigid poly pipe and couple of connectors as I find it does not sag like the flexi pipe and therefore does not freeze so easily in the winter or trap stagnant water in the summer. A short piece of flexi pipe does for the final drop into the drain. I guess what you use is what you feel happy with.

An 'upgrade' to super pitch. Do we need super pitches or is this just a way of increasing revenue? A few extra yards to walk with water and waste hardly makes a non-super pich second rate.
Take today. It's gusting force 7 and raining. If you want to go to a water point and stand in the rain and howling wind for 10 minutes filling your aquaroll, then empty the grey water after your Mrs. has had a nice hot shower, before repeating the operation so you can follow suit, feel free!
Super Pitches are so much more relaxing! Especially in our climate.
Why do houses have running water? Because we all got fed up of fetching and carrying the stuff!
Edit.
We have 6 metres of waste hose, as everywhere we have been needed just a bit more!
Horses for courses.....you pays your money and takes your choice. We use fully serviced pitches as apart from the fetching and disposal you get to use all the facilities in your van. ie Shower, without worrying will the water run out.
Nothing wrong with using these pitches and nothing wrong in not using them. Its nice to have a choice and its nice we are not all the same in our requirements.
