Well? Does Computer go on holiday too?? And how d`ya connect? Earlier this year, at Prestatyn (Haven) the connection was soooo poor I gave up and did some drawings and photo editing instaed . . . thinking of getting a PAYG Mobile Broadband. Any good?
------------- Peripheral people don`t have as much excitement but they sure live longer
I have an O2 PAYG dongle, have used it in several different areas and never had a connection problem, though I do find it slower than the broadband connection on the desktop here at home. That could just be a general thing though rather than specific to one network.

I have a very temperamental personality - 50% temper and 50% mental
i use T mobile and o2,think o2 has the edge.the cost on wifi at a club site varies.CCC are cheapest.CC i though was really expensive at £5 for 5 hours.both PAYG.o2 i can buy 24 hours for £2.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
We find the laptop handy in the van. We can do research on the area we are visiting and find extra things to do round and about. I know I should do that before i go, but always seem to forget!

I trust reader are aware that those of us that have our Broadband provided by BT as Total Broadband can 'opt-in' to free use of the vast BT Openzone network of hotspots?
To do this you have to be pro-active and joint BT FON, its free look on the BT web. Doing this makes your modem if it is a BT HomeHub into a dual channel device and a localised BT Openzone hotspot for others to use. In return you have unlimited use of all the Openzone network, the commercial ones and the thousands like yourself providing little localised ones.
If your modem is not a BT HomeHub or you switch it off then your are still a member with all the benefits, even though you are not helping the system.
C&CC sites with WiFi I have used also carry a BT Openzone signal so you get free WiFi on these.
Great system.
Most smart phones come with wi-fi connectability ie you can connect laptops to the phones wi-fi signal. Handy if you've got unlimited internet usage with your tariff or faling that we use a 3G dongle, broadband speed is upto 2meg, so pretty quick for browsing, searching etc.

I use my smartphone which is on 3 network, set it to wi-fi and to be honest usually get a similar speed to my home broadband. Although sometimes depending where we go the signal can be poor. The nice thing about 3 is that you get eat as much as you want data built into the price plan no cap whatsoever.

I didn't realise that about c&cc sites. We are with bt so we can get fon/openzone but I have never used a homehub.

You don't need to be using a HomeHub to sign up and benefit from BT FON membership.
It will be interesting to hear if where you are going you can get Openzone; you could pre check on Openzone's map.
I got it at St Neots and Oxford, and checking on Openzone these are both marked.
