We are looking for a new van, must have double dinette layout (central shower & toilet) preferably with reasonable length front seating and back with one side long enough to be used as a single and the other as a mini dining area (two seats plus a table).
Does anyone know of vans that have this set up?
We have found one so far but it's a six berth (there's only 3 of us) and MTPLM of 1600 kg. Experienced towers so a 85%+ match for our Jeep Grand Cherokee isn't a worry (1820kg kerbweight) but it's an old lady (1997) with lpg conversion and don't want the engine to struggle.
I know we can reduce payload but feel a 6 berth's bunk structures is a lot of weight to carry for no benefit. FYI it's an Avondale Argente 650/6 2004 priced with a dealer at £7k - a bit high imho.
Ideas? Will probably also need to be early to mid 2000s model as upper end of the budget is circa £8,000.
Not sure if its fits your exact requirements but maybe look at a Bailey Pageant Provence. Ours is the series 6 so has the L Shaped front lounge but the series 7 that came after this has the front parellel seats which are long enough for use as 2 x singles. The rear can then be a small dining area or converts into a double bed with bunk above (or 2 small children singles which is what we use ours for). It also has the mid bathroom with seperate shower and is well under your weight requirements.
We have the double dinette layout, ours is an Ace Celebration, the Ace Jubilee is the same van ( ours was a dealers special) we use the rear dinette as a fixed bed as it will take a full size double matress.
We have had this van for a few years noe and have been very pleased with it, the front dinette has full sizedseating also. weight is 1450kg so not to heavy.
There is normaly three of us,one is a child of 8 .we have a bailey 500/5 with a dinette at both ends.the rear one has a full folding door that can be shut off at night.he usually has a full size bed to himself.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. Caravanfinder is good for layouts but there doesn't seem to be any way to select a particular van to search for or a region of the country or am I missing something?
Mature student are you still looking for a caravan, ors is the layout you are looking for and we are having to give up caravaning due to health reasons, if you are it may be worth a chat.
There aren't many about nowadays brand new but the one you want to look at is the Lunar 556. Smaller front lounge (but still suitable for a double bed), Large rear lounge with seats suitable as single beds (in fact it's a six berth with pullout bunks over the two rear seats but we never use them). It also has a great kitchen and fantastic bathroom with separate shower (although obviously a little small). All on a single axle but at 1498 mtplm not one of the lighter vans today.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
