Hi just had to post this message coz we are so excited, we are picking up our new van on saturday and can not wait, we always fancied trying caravaning and we had our first van given to us last year it was a 1990 abi 4 berth maruader and we have been away in it 38 times in the last 12 months, so as you can guess we love it, but the poor van is showing her age, so we have just traded up to an 1998 elddis 2 berth mistral vogue she is a beauty and a bargain, can not wait to get her home, she has a few extras which as of yet have no idea how to use , blow air heating, onboard charger, water pump switches a few other bits, there is a manual with it so plenty of reading and testing before our first trip out for the bank holiday. any one own the same van with any advice
we feel like two kids counting down to christmas silly I know when i am 50 and the OH is 42, but caravaning is our life now we sulk when we can not get away for the weekend and coming home after a trip is awful its deadly quite in the car all the way home lol
hey mcmanus i agree basic is an understatement for ours but dont you just love that, i have seen new vans but they do nothing for me, they have no caracter if you know what i mean
Hi hammyhar, Congratulations on your new van, you have just got an illness that may never be cured, I wish you all the very best with your van.
The dealer usually gives you a demonstration on how all the things work before you take van off forecourt, but my guess is you will forget most of it in the excitement, you could record the demonstration, by writing it down or tape it (if he is willing to be taped) for when you get van home and try and remember all of what he said, also if you have any questions you would like to ask him, write them down on paper and don’t forget to take it with you in your excitement, be patient Saturday is only 2 long days away.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.
hi john i have been to the dealers three times with my list of questions and forgot everything he has said after each visit, be prepared on saturday to be bombarded with questions, and its only 1 day full day really till saturday , well thats my way of thinking
Congratulations! Our very 1st van was a Marauder too an it was very basic but we had a few years of very happy holidays in it when the kids were little.
Enjoy your new van and don't forget to post some pics
------------- Are you sure you've read the instructions?
Yay :D I remember getting our first van with blown air, it was like caveman finding fire lol.
Have fun and huge congratulations x
