Hello
just got back from buying a new caravan and now on the look out for a new awning but wondering whether or not to get a full or porch awning.
We have 4 dogs so need an awning of some sort but have only ever had full, but wonder whether the porch will stand up to the weather (worried about how to seal the sides)
and on the flip side like the idea of a quick to take down and dry awning(as im currently trying to dry full one out now)
we have 2 weeks and a fortnight away and as many weekends we can manage.
can anyone recommend any makes and would you consider second hand as im now skint!
thanks Martin.
hi we just got new van /awning....we went for a large porch with carbon poles ,we go away on lots of weekends so wanted something quick but could stand all weathers,we settled for a outdoor revolution new york.fab awning not too bad on price,we only used our full awning on last van once per year for main hol so thought it was a waist o money.im going to buy the annex for main hols to put body boards wet suits etc in .i see ya live mansfield,we are in chesterfield and got ours from renishaw caravans clay cross i know mark the owner ,he has lots of awnings on display its worth a look ,if you go tell him debbie sent you .here is my set up
We are currently in the a similar position having just sold our old van with its full awning. We don't currently have an awning for the new van but after a lot of looking think we will be going for the Kampa Rally 390. If you go for this with the rear upright poles and storm straps the seals looks great and it is as solid as a rock....we looked at someone elses at a site this week. They also do it in a 260 and 330cm size (depending on your van) and also a new "pro" version if you want a thicker material. I don't like the idea of another full awning as its too much hassle to put up and dry out. Overall, and having looked at the other makes, I think the Kampa Rally is a good choice if you don't want a full awning.
forgot to say we had one o those quick awning tent type ones) with last van only used it a few times but wasnt pleased wen in wind it bang's on side of van near top of awning rail it leaves little dents like a wood pecker has been across it,wasnt having that on new van.

thankyou its one im looking at,good to hear experience of one
we love our Kampa Rally 260 so much so we've also bought a Kampa Fiesta 350 for longer stays. We sold the heavy full awning that came with the van. We've just used the Rally 260 for a week long stay and it stood up to the rain and wind brilliantly.
I love the internal pics of your awning amaboverd, can I ask what make groundsheet you have?
