Always used to use a spray on glass cleaner and kitchen towel.  Just used loads of it to avoid grit scratches.

I now carry Showroom shine, which is excellent for cleaning the van and windows (now on BOGOF)

Hi Smiledmd, Another one for show room shine leaves a good shine and helps keep the dirt off.

I use Auto Glym Fast Glass cleaner for the interior and Auto Glym Glass polish for the exterior which removes road film and bird lime much easier.

On my last older van there were tell tale scratches over all the windows, probably due to not being washed with copious water before polishing.

The miracle cure I was recommended was to use Aircraft cockpit cleaner available from Ebay. This is in effect a very fine type of T cut. With a bit of elbow grease the smears / scratches polished out to a marvelous clear shine

Jeff - I'm afraid I did just what you said not to last year. Cleaned them before wetting first - any clues how to get rid of some of the scratches? 

Could kick myself!! They show up a lot when in bright sun.
