Im thinking of painting the panels inside are caravan .they are a wood effect at the moment so thought it might look better that an all wood look I've noticed the newer caravans have an off white effect & think it looks good.

Has any body else painted their panels & if so what paint did you use & does it look better ?

Hi,Just be mindfull if the panels are treated at all the new paint will just lie on the surface,so the least amount of knocking etc will chip the new paint, make sure you make a good key to make the new paint stick to,also i would use a oil based paint rather then a water based as the oil based is much stronger etc, forget all the new fancy type paint thats on the market like paint for Melimine etc,you cant beat the old fashion oil base undercoat and oil based finished coat.

Have fun

I agree with Mickere. I painted the inside of mine with Kitchen and bathroom paint, but I really needed to put some kind of a base undercoat of some sort on first, to act as a key. In spite of sanding down and three coats of paint, its not going to last long, and I think it will chip very easily. Still, it will have to do for this season now.

I really wish I had papered instead, but that would have been expensive and quite difficult!

not sure how much your Ariva is worth but if its fairly new be careful not to devalue it.. If its really old and not worth too much then its no problem. It's your choice.

hi there , we found a seller on ebay for paints for caravans , boat etc , just put in the serch caravan paint , there were loads of colours to choose from , the paint is enamel based , one it drys very fast , leaves no brush marks on final coat , and hard wearing , this paint can be used inside or out , just make sure if you decide to carry out the upgrade that you key the area ready for primier first then top coat , also if your inside panels are looking grubby etc , you can paint these in a vinyl emusion of your choice as you can wipe them clean with a lightly damp cloth but dont use any cleaning agent just luke warm soapy water , and if you want to clean your ceiling panels use anti static foam cleaner this removes grease nitotene stains etc , as it a foam cleaner it will not drip of the ceiling when cleaning just wipe off after with warm soapy water, hope this of help
