Only buy it once CRiS has confirmed that it is not a stolen vehicle. You don't get a log book for a caravan so if the dealer actually said that you would get one....move on. If it has been stolen then the Delaer should be able to direct you to the Insurers who had it covered who can confirm that the "stolen" issue has been resolved. You don't want the insurers turning up and taking it away.
If you get no joy via that route then don't buy it.
If you still want to buy it then get a letter from the dealers confirming that they have valid title to the caravan and that if it is subsequently found to be a stolen caravan they will reimburse the monies that you have paid, within seven days of your written demand for reimbursement, plus £x compensation. Work out your own compensation level for being messed around.
Mind you if they are offering you a log book for a van don't walk away....just run.
