Hi, I am contemplating fitting the Truma Ultra Heat element to our fire in our Adria Caravan . I have one question about fitting etc.
In all the info i have researched, the fitting seems quite straight forward, entering through the floor of the cupboard etc. I have looked into purchasing a unit both from a retailer and ebay, which provide the Kit, however i am unsure/confused as to whether when they say Control Box/ Panel, this is also referring to the PCB control unit, which seems and can be temperamental, with reference to the relays etc. Therefore could somebody please indicate whether i have to purchase a PCB unit along with the element installation kit, or it is already with the kit, or even for that matter already installed in the gas fire.
much appreciated
Chris W
I have done the same to my Adria. The kit comes complete with everything needed. You get all wiring, the heating element, the control box(with PCB inside) and the wall switch. The only thing you need add is a fused spur and a couple of foot of mains flex and maybe 10 'p' clips and screws. You will also need a hole saw to make a hole for the wall switch(or a circle of pilot holes)
you may also want the optional remote thermostat.
btw the instructions supplied are generic and state that you have to remove the fire but in the Adria it can be done by removing the wardrobe floor and leaving the fire in place so no disturbing the gas or flue.
Apologies for it being a day or two to get back to people on replies, i have been away on business and just go back, however very much appreciated and has settled my mind at rest now may attempt this over summer for the winter season of 2012-13.
