Ok, I am sure there is an obvious answer to this but why do some caravans have two aquarolls next to them on sites? We were new to caravaning last year and noticed that a few people did this on some sites we visited. Now I know that the aquaroll is 40L, and so is the waste master we have, so what is the benefit of 2 auqarolls as I assume by the time you have used one up you need to empty the wastemaster anyway? I am sure there must be a benefit so I would be interested to here if anyone does it and the reasons why?
We use 2, so that when one runs out we change strait over too a full one without running about first. Very handy if its raining or you are in the middle of something.
So that if one runs out in the night you just swap them over and fill the empty one in the morning instead of disturbing people by having to fill it up straight away. Also useful for showering in the van - put the full one on before starting shower and then won't have the problem of water running out half way through!
I am sure it is simply to have adequate water so if one runs out there is more readily available.
Envisage the scenario; the water runs out, dutifully you tell 'precious' that you are off immediately to refill it but then get waylaid discussing the merits of some other persons van, equipment or are just sociable and a two minute job becomes a 30 minute one. Well when you get back you will know exactly why some have two Aquarolls!!!
We have two, we well mainly me use the vans shower, so it's just easier if one runs out to use another, we only used to have one at first though.

Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.

I think the OP may have been wondering what happens to 80L of water of the wastemaster is only 35 - 40 L
That was exactly my thought? Assuming you don't drink lots I assumed the amount in the wastemaster would nearly equal one auqaroll full ?

Ours also goes into the toilet as our flush draws direct from the freshwater and for drinking and pasta etc.
I use 2 Aquarolls for several reasons and the first is the same of having 2 gas cylinders. It's easier to change it over if one runs out at an awkward time and it's also easier for my wife interchange the barrels over if I'm in the loo or chatting to friends on site. The other reason is because we consume the water for drinking tea and coffee etc. so it saves putting the water pump on the ground whilst I go to refill just one barrel. There's no point in spending time and money sterilising the barrels and water system if you just put the pump on dirty ground and even if you remove the pump it unnecesarily breaks the water tight seal between the pump and caravan. Basically it's a logical time saver, more hygenic and assistance for my wife.
