Other way round

turn the wheel until it clicks then push down on the lever

to unhitch lift the lever then turn the wheel all the way off then it will disconnect

It isn't a stupid question at all because I remember when we had our first caravan it had an Alko 1300 stabiliser fitted and the dealer connected it up to our towcar. Of course I then had to ask how to connect and disconect the hitch which he then looked rather vague at me as though I was a bit thick but it is just a learning curve that we all go through at the beginning of something new. Anyway I see you have it sorted now.
