Ive been looking at a lunar solar 462 caravan today and was wondering if anyone has one and and is there anything I should ask the dealer about or look for. We are going back tomorrow or tuesday.
we have the premier 415,there very similar, she is a fab van had no probs, altho the chap that services ours says in the past they havnt been so good they used to call lunars leaky lunars, but as i say we havnt had any probs with ours and she is still bone dry (1996) i recovered all the seats and renewed curtains etc heres the link
there is plenty of years in her yet, altho our family have out grown her and we are looking for something bigger,so she will be going up for sale in a few weeks and i will be very sad to see her go .
Oh the pictures are beautiful, the covers are lovely. Ime not sure about the caravan I have seen, I like swift really, but this has an end bathroom which I want, but only thing is I think there maybe damp around the sink because its black and the paper has come off and lifting. So I will see if its been damp tested, Ime sure he said it wont be damp tested until I leave a deposit then if there is damp it will be sorted, but I dont feel happy with that really.

mmm if you can get hold of a meter test it yourself, sounds like damp to me.even if its water from the tap and not ingress from outside if the paper has lifted the board must be wet and there is no telling how far its gone thro.dont leave any deposit untill you have checked it out.its worth spending a little to get a second opinion, our mobile chap would come along and give it the once over for us for a small fee say £30 its worth getting hold of one to check it out.
Yes I agree, We didnt return because I dont feel comfortable with it all. I would never have thought looking for a caravan would be so difficult and that so many questions have be asked and then decide if the answers are truthful. But I am a doubting thomas lol. Having a look at tameside caravans next, the last one was glossop caravans. There is a chap who Ive been in touch with, but I dont think he is willing to travel far and its 35.00 per hour.
ive just had a look at the lunar on glossop site, they do make them look beeter than they are dont they? ive never been to glossop caravans but do know there has been bad coments passed on here before,as i say i cant speak from experiance but remember reading about it.if its your first van dont forget awning etc too,im going to sell ours with full awning as the vans im looking at are bigger so wont be any good.
I have read one or two bad reviews too, but I maybe too picky about the type of van I want though, Its got to be 1250 MTPLM or less, with a bathroom, shower and toilet all at the back of the van and within the £3000 price range, it sound simple but proving otherwise. I did find one I liked, it was a swift sandymere duette from northwich, but he wouldnt give a warranty and said it hadnt had a damp test, but he had a meter if I wanted to go and test it. So I left that alone too. Losing the will to live. lol
Have you tried here http://www.caravanwarehousewigan.co.uk/manufacturer/?make=Sterling , they have a few van for that price dogscenturion they may not be on his web page if if you have a ride up you can view his stock .
ha love you will find something,if its not ment to be its not ment to be,in a few more weeks there will be more vans available on forecourts, the new 2012 vans have been released so people will be bringing there older vans in part ex,were waiting for some coming in at our local dealer ,they know what will be coming in from the orders they have,so we will be swapping our older van for a (new to us) van about 3-5 years old so its a knock on affect .
