The only "silly" question is the one you haven't asked.

Can I suggest that the first thing you do with your new chocks is cut off the plastic handles (if it's got them) from the front of the chock.

After cutting off the handle, drill a suitable hole through the chock and thread a substantial piece of rope, (mine is polypropylene/nylon  with the knotted end melted to prevent undoing)

That will save the poor unfortunate who has to remove the chock from having to put their pinkies in danger of being crushed when performing the operation

We have exactly the same, the black one have a long slim base that slides under the wheel which is great on flat hard ground.
