I would like to change from the Calor 4.5Kg (blue) butane to the 6Kg (red) propane Calor Lite but the bottle connection is different. Can I buy an adaptor and if so where? or will I need to buy a new pigtail?

You will need a new pigtail. I don't think an adapter is made.

Thanks John, thats a pity, my Cadac runs off the same bottle and it will mean a new regulator for that. I also have a back-up Camping Gaz 907 that I use in France with an adaptor if the Calor runs out. Maybe too much faffing about to bother changing.

Good reasoning Wilkolad, and perhaps the 1.5 Kgs of extra gas may well see me through my three week hols in France without resorting to the Camping Gaz bottle and I would have my original pigtail to go back to if I needed to.

Its a 2009 model G7ACU, so no trouble with the on-board regulator. My dealer gave me the choice but I thought wrongly as it turns out, that similar connectors were used throughout the Calor range. I am tempted to switch as there are more benefits than disadvantages.

we now use calorlite and the change is well worth doing as the weight is only half of the old bottles and being propane (red) you can use it all year round.we can now carry two bottles not one.the weight of a full calorlite red is 10 kgs or 22 lbs.strange thing is last year it was £22 and last week it was only £19.50 at a CClub site.see

Some good news for a change Michael, my local garage would have let me have it for £18 so its off to get a new pigtail!!

Hi.

I have just paid £19.50 for a calor light refill.

I have been planning to get a Calorlite cylinder. At the moment I use 7kg Butane and heard that Calor will exchange this for a new Calorlite. Is this true cos my local dealer (hardware shop) says it will mess up his stock and Calor will charge him!!
