I am still waiting for my insurance money for my wind destroyed van however I am naturally browsing the classified's online for a replacement.

I like the look of the following van.....

Ideally it would have tripple bunks but we could always get a joiner to adapt them into a tripple.

Anyway my question is has anyone ever heard of an Elddis Tweed? Is Tweed the model as I can't find any mention of other Elddis Tweed vans online so I can compare prices.

Hi

It's a dealer special edition I think.  It means it will be based on a different Elddis model but with extra bits.

We have a Swift Speedbird which is a similar idea - it's based on a Charisma but has a higher spec and was sold exclusively through a particular dealer.

The Tweed was part of a range of Elddis models produced as special editions for Knowepark Caravans in Livingston for 2002 and 2003.  Based on the Avante models of the day.

Thanks for the info. I have emailed the seller to ask what year it was made. Do you think it is reasonably priced? For an 02/03 I reckon is about 800 over priced.

Elddis Avante 6 berth 2003,  value £4700 private, £5200 forcourt price guide.

If the caravan you are looking at is a dealer special of a 'tarted up' Avante, the prices above should not be very different.

Thanks Julia I have looked at that website before but find that it undervalues vans quite significantly. Its very hard to find a van for sale which is anywhere near as cheap as the "book price" listed on that website. Unlike car book price guides like Parkers which base their prices on actual sale prices at auctions etc. I cannot see how this website gets to its valuations. It could be any old Tom, Dick or Harry publishing their own caravan price guide website and just making up or guessing the prices.

I set you a challenge! To find a good condition 02/03 Eldiss Avante 6 for 4700?
