This xmas we've decided to get away from it all and spend the holiday period away in the caravan(it'll be the 1st time weve ever done this at xmas or in winter). I was just wondering how many other people are doing the same as it'll be lonely if no one else is!! So are you going away and if so where to??
We tried it last year for the first time too, however we get the chance as the site was under 18 inches of snow and closed! Left it too late this year and all the sites we fancied are full, so a lot of people are doing it. Ah well, maybe next year.
We are, only just booked a CS at Kingskerwell, have been away at Christmas loads of times as we don't have any family ties, but were thwarted for the actual day the last 2 years. Hopefully there won't be any snow in Devon or Luton this time.
I know very few people on here use their real names and only give a very general location but in some cases it might be possible to identify someone and stating on a public forum that you are going to be away over christmas and potentially leaving your house empty is probably not a good idea.

sad reflection on modern society but none the less a valid point , you can never be too careful these days

We love to do it ... we did have a "packaged holiday ---- yes I am a sinner I bought a holiday from those people and went away from christmas to a strange land in plane so we wud love to do it -- however hols arent on the cards but if his dates anyone know any campsites open in Wales ? North
we used to go down to spain , but after the snow driving all the way through France the year before last , we are staying home , and going to Australia for 2 months starting mid January
We'd love to go away but everybody comes to us, elderly relatives and our kids & their partners, and we have a really good time even though its hard work.
Maybe one day - although I can't help feeling we might be a bit lonely if we did.........
We are maybe going away over Christmas and maybe going away at Easter and maybe going away at Whit and maybe going away in the summer. I could tell you where we are going but I may have to shoot you afterwards.
