We are thinking of changing from Conway Countryman FC next year to a caravan. Research has made us think the Elddis may be the van for us.(like the double dinette} Two adults and one 16 year old. We use FC for various short weekends away and two longer trips a year. Like the idea of a 2/3 week tour in France. Mainly use sites with facilities but would like the option of smaller sites occasionally.

Anyone out there got one or had one? Any plus or minus points for us to consider?

Thanks in anticipation of some replies.

We switched from a 1997 Countryman to a 2002 Elddis Crown Magnum 505 in April. So far we have had 11 trips out in it, mostly weekends with the C&CC where it was own san required, a couple of 4 nighters & a 6 day summer trip. The twin dinette works well for us - we use the front sofas as single beds and our 10 year old daughter has the end bunk which we close off with the folding door.  The shower/toilet room is small but does the job, even my 6 foot husband manages in there.

We have happy memories of our 3 years with the camper but don't regret switching at all. I would recommend it!

We switched from a 2000 Pennine pathfinder which we had for 3 years to a 2004 Elddis Avante 505 (5 berth, twin dinette) - have not looked back!

We really like the interior layout and quality of our Elddis - some are heavy though so check (newer versions of our van too heavy for our Passat). Other makes also offer this layout also.

Happy hunting.
