I have stopped using waste containers, in hot weather they start to ferment, unless they are emptied every day, (which is a waste of a large container). I have ,for a couple of years, been using a small bucket, which is much easier to empty, and does not have any of the problems mentioned above!
Steve,
Your reply made me chuckle...
But fair points all the same. As with most caravan jobs, I enjoy the exercise and the whole 'Get stuck in' feeling, keeps me active and that's what I like about the hobby. The water in the container is nothing worse than dishwater so are people really bothered about getting their hands wet???
all 5 are problems that some will not like. 1. 2. 5 are overcome by my modification.also much easier to retrieve from under the caravan when full.a screw cap with a fitted small pipe with a NRV for the two drain pipes that plug into the van would help too as the cap is loose and falls behind sometimes..

------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Same thing, waste water, but the main irritation for me isn't the container. It's the pipes from van to container.
Now has anyone " Lost " one of the pipes in to the waste water holder or is it only me this happens to
Even got one of these to stop it happening for previous van
and yes the bottom flexible hose still fell into the container. OH what fun I had getting it out.

I've never really thought about problems with emptying the waste water or any other waste come to think of it I just do it when the waste is full (I use the top hole) ours is emptied once a day it's mostly shower water anyway as for smells we just put bleach in it when we get home and that sorts it
Not much you can do about the weight of water though ????
yes you can just add the extra wheel and a strong cord as i did, even a 5 year old can pull it full of water.
this my version of a major improvement to the water carrier.i designed this mod in 2006 the pdf will explain.and offered it to the big two,one of these has gone bust now.it makes it easy for a child or disabled person who can hook it onto the chair to pull it full to the waste point.the mod could be designed into the finished item.the only drawback was the wheel i fitted being noisy,a rubber one will sort this.the other thing was these things stink unbelievable if no additive is put in.i use a strong bleach to keep it fresh.it needs a bleach tablet of sorts you can just drop in after emptying or a stick into the water that dissolves or a period of time.this could be added as a separate location on the container.thanks to papa pip for doing the pdf for me.
