Hi, there was a post on here some time ago, where the solar panel placed on roof of van, I assume the cables came through the sky light(if temporary measure), but think it was for all year round camping off site, and solar panels were fixed permanently to roof, had pictures showing how it was done, if that member or any other member sees your post, the may be able to help with a link to that post, meantime you could link up another battery, others will be able to give you more technical information on how do this properly, hope that helped.
