Just wondering who else is looking forward to winter caravanning? Don't get me wrong I like summer and the nights it brings but also love spending a warm cosy night in the van with a glass of wine with nice crisp snow outside on the ground. In winter I always have the van dressed up in lights as well and like to have the radio on and chill with a good book. Anybody else the same?
i too am really looking forward to winter vanning
booked in for new year and intend to caravan all the way through
bought an insulated water thingy and crocheted some blankets so should be very snug
i just love my van love the peace and quiet and doing what i want when i want

Its the best time of year - quiet sites, lots of wildlife, no alkies sitting in their awnings drinking vast quantities of cheap plonk and not realising how loud they are, animal tracks in the snow, wonderful light for photography and cheap pitch fees. I think I would give up caravanning if I had to restrict it to the summer months.

The best source of info are the reviews on here. Select and area that you like the look of and then go onto Camp Site Search at the top of the page. I've found no end of good places using this - Have fun!
Thats why we bought a van and came over to `the dark side` as hubby wouldnt camp past September. Looking forward to cosying in my lovely van in October and trying to plan a New year trip.
We were away last weekend, and have one more booked at the end of October. Then we have decided we will just go away if and when. We got the van this year, so this is our first winter of caravanning.
Course will be weather dependant ........... BMW's don't do bad weather themselves, never mind with a van on the back
Enjoy nice cold crisp days and the increased space.
Our van is very well insulated and heated and as long as you have appropriate clothing going out can be very enjoyable.
Booking last minute not normally a problem so make our plans but only make booking when we know we are going to go. That way can avoid wet weekends and very icy towing conditions.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
