We took our TT to Jersey some years ago; nothing different to using the ferry to France to be honest ... other than slow.
Speed highly restricted on Jersey and they get pretty irritated if you don't understand their un-spoken policy of giving way in sequence at traffic islands etc., plus they use a voucher scheme for street parking in the main towns, via a book of tickets you generally buy at most shops.
A lovely place though and worth a return visit.
To be fair though, although we traded up from the TT to van some years ago, I'd opt for the route of using a pre-erected frame tent on one of the sites (quite common) to save some of the extra cost of taking our own again.
If you look at the go caravan magazine there is an article on taking a van to jersey ,look on uk motorhome and caravanning website if you dont to buy the mag
We were considering doing this in the future as Jersey is somewhere I'd love to visit. However, I was a bit confused after reading the article in Go caravan magazine. They said that if your caravan is under 6.5m you have to use the slow ferry which I knew but later on they say that the max length of a caravan allowed on to Jersey is only 6.7m but then they took a Bailey Pegasus Milan across for the test. But, they do add as a footnote 'Only when I returned did I realise that the Jersey authorities set a length limit of 6.7m in total'. So it seems that we wouldn't be able to take our caravan across then!
We have been to Jersey when we had our TT a few years ago and looked at taking the van over. The max length on the seacat I believe is 5.5m. On the conventional ferry we would be with lorries, etc so cant see that the length of the van would be a problem? However there may be a restriction on the sites. I'm awaiting a reply to my e-mail to Beavelande campsite.
There is a maximum towing restriction in Jersey but after checking on Jersey website it seems that Go Caravan haven't got it quite right, as by this link seems that the 6.7m max is excluding the A frame & hitch not the total length of the caravan as Go state which means we could probably get away with it.
Although Jersey is somewhere I would like to go sometime it seems they really do not welcome caravanners and make it extremely difficult to take a caravan there.

I don't think it's a case of not being welcome, just that the very narrow roads mean that restrictions have to be put in place. You cannot "tour" you must take van directly to\from a booked site and need form from site to book ferry.
My brother lived there for a few years and we were regular visitors (albeit we flew, rented a car and stayed with him) - it is a lovely place to visit with lots to see. But it is about 9 miles long by around 5 miles across so you wont feel the need to tour there, just site your 'van and use it as a base.
The roads are narrow - many of them single track, but the main roads are not unlike our B Roads so passable. The max speed on the island is 40MPH and in many places just 20MPH so at least you wont get blamed for holding up the traffic!
There is a review of a site at St Martins in Caravan Magazine this month. It appears caravans are now welcome there! Apparently this has not always been the case. If you book - get the site to recommend the best route from the port and you'll be fine.
We took the van to jersey a couple of years ago and it was fine. We went on the cat and returned overnight on the ferry. If I remember right, the site had to meet us at the ferry terminal and lead us to the site. We were there for two weeks, and didn't overtake or be overtaken once!!!
