i recently saw a chap filling his aquaroll with what looked like a piece of straight pipe about1 1/2-2in diameter about 14 in long which was held between the tap and the filler hole in the aquaroll. It was a lot quicker to fill up rather than a normal tap connector and plastic hose. Has anyone seen or bought one as i'd like to know where to get one from ? i wish i'd been a bit closer to him so as to ask him where it came from.I wondered if it was a peice of plastic piping from a plumbers merchant or whether it was from a caravan shop with food or hygene standard
I either use a piece of food grade hose with a push fit tap connector or simply roll the aquaroll under the tap, align it, get slightly wet crocs and fill.
A quick google search found this, it might be the same thing that chap was using.
I was on another forum where this very thread came up and linked the exact same pipe thingi ... Its a good idea, but i wouldnt buy one on eBay .. just make one yerself
I actually use one of these pipes when there is no hose pipe attached to the drinking water tap. I bought it from a local caravanner who made them up and sold them on Ebay for about £2.50. It is just a length of domestic waste pipe (which can be cut to various lenghts required) and at the one end there are two pieces of velco about 12mm. wide x 50mm. long glued to each side of the tube. The opposite part of the velcro is then just a band about 12mm. wide x approx. 100mm. long that goes over the tap and attaches to the velcro on either side of the tube. This way you don't have to hold the tube in place by hand whilst the water runs through the pipe into the barrel. The one thing to remember though is to submerse the tube in sterilising solution such as Milton so no bacteria breeds inside the tube if left for months over the winter period.
Using a metre piece of blue food quality hose fitted with a screw on coupling at one end and a rubber clamp on at the other. Works for both normal tap fittings and we can stand the AquaRoll away from the wet, muddy or foul drain area often found under the tap.
It might be a good idea to cut your length of hose to be the size of the one they provide as it wraps around the top of the aqua roll and fastens together when you are using it as you need to keep it clean and off the floor so as to keep you water supply germ and bug free.

CC ones have string with toggle to hold on to tap. Must have copied Margarets' husband

I have 2 filling devices that I use depending on the tap at each site. The first is the white solid plastic pipe with a piece of elastic threaded through at one end, I use the stuff that goes up the middle of those fibre glass poles, this holds it tight against the tap when filling. The 2nd is a length of hose with the push female connector and screw on male part which goes on the tap. I find that this covers all eventualities. All are home made , a lot cheaper than buying them ready made.
I use a piece of white plastic pipe with a piece of elasticated cord on one end withann adjustable toggle [from an old waterproof top]. pop pipe into aquaroll pull up onto tap, adjust toggle and fill. When full pull down off tap and away I go.
