We currently have an elderly Reich mover that works very well. However we are considering changing 'vans in 2012 and are looking at a new mover too with powered engagement.
The reason for this is we use the mover to get the 'van out onto the main road in front of the house. I have to go to the road side of the 'van to 'wind off' the Reich as the kerb is too high on the other side to get to the mover. I am constantly dodging buses, tractors and the she-devil next door when trying to do this .... powered engagement would solve this at the touch of a button!
Would be happy with a Reich again ... but would welcome recommendations.
Thanks in advance.

Hi IanM, I have the Reich Powered engagement, very good but very expensive, got mine fitted 6yers ago £1250, 3 thing I have found that are not up to scratch, 1, the mover isolating switch Must be OFF if AC EHU is connected (main mover circuit board burns out). 2, remote has a short receiving distance (will not work if more than 4feet from A frame hitch. 3, remote buttons(old box type remote) will not allow you to use two buttons at same time to rotate van on its axis,(a replacement remote will cost £100). I have found the mover very reliable, think they are still around £1000, You could keep your mover and transfer it to other van, and get remote engagement motor fitted( £250), don’t know about other movers, hope that’s been of some help.

If in Doubt Check it Out.

I think my current Reich is too old to be updated ... it has now been on 4 'vans so I feel it is time for an upgrade! You are right the new Reich is very expensive compared to others but my current one has seen a lot of use and except for a new set of aluminium rollers has worked perfectly.
Thanks to those suggesting the Truma. Looks good but again expensive.
The Powertouch looks favourite. The Alko Mammut looks great but the price would make your eyes water!

Is it possible to add it to your current mover and put it on the new van? I know it is something that can be added to the Powrtouch later, not sure about the Reich.

Hi Dave, yes it can be added to the Reich, it is basically a control box, a wind screen wiper motor with a gear box, and has the square hole to take the existing crossbar. Cost plus fitting £250.

Hi IainM, there should be no problems in up grading to the remote control engager,( it is basically a control box, a wind screen wiper motor with a gear box, and has the square hole to take the existing crossbar. Cost plus fitting £250) .Worth checking out before spending a lot of cash on new one.
