hello i.ve been looking to buy an awning for my camper conversion , and i'm hoping someone can tell me the difference between a wind out one , using a winding handle , which i'm familiar with , and the ones advertised as caravan ones ,, do these pull out ? or unfold ? , how easy are they to use ,, and if someone has had both types , is the caravan type , one you would recommend ,, i ask as there is a big difference in the price , and i would be seldom using it , as i prefer to be out in the sun , when its out ,, thanks

The caravan sidewalls are generaly not strong enough to support a windout side awning. So the ones marketed at caravans tend to be fabric only, with poles attached onced unfurled.
The said I have seen Fiamma advertising a wind out for the new Baileys are they have stronger sidewalls.

Thanks huw , when you say unfurl , does that
Mean you just unroll it by hand ? And do you attach them to the side of the van each time you use one ?
