Look before everyone kicks off that I'm on holiday & shouldn't worry about my hair - you havn't seen my hair!!
We like to camp "in the middle of nowhere" but just sometimes, when it's persisting down - it's nice for the kids to watch the telly for an hour (& us to get a bit of peace!!) so, we bought a Kipor 900 gennie but th'usband says my GHD's have two hopes of working so, I have bought a new pair that state they are "multi-voltage" from 100-240v - 50/60hz, does anyone know what that converts to in Wattage - cos I need to know if they will work with the gennie.
My wife's GHD's are 35W, well within the capacity of any generator, so will be OK load wise. GHD's can be fussy though, they don't work with modified sinewave invertors. This is an invertor gennie & I'm 99% sure it's pure sinewave, but there's a possiblity there could be a problem.
It doesn't convert to wattage - the figures you quote refer to the voltage and cycles per second of the alternating current which they are capable of using, in other words they can use almost any domestic supply in the EU (including UK), US and a few other places.
I'm guessing the straighteners need about 40 watts, and that the generator produces 900 watts, so you should have no problems!
I found that my ghd's wouldn't work on a modified sine inverter but would work on a pure sine one but it started getting really expensive!
I've got some 12v straighteners, they aren't as good as ghd's but they do a fairly good job (and I share your pain of fuzzy, frizzy, must have straighteners hair!)
