I hear that there have been a number of official weighing of caravans on the motorway services checking for overweight. Although I am careeful what goes in the van, if I was honest I bet I would be overweight. I am going to Keswick next week and would hate to get pulled

with a limited inventory
I take my car,trailer and roofbox (all loaded for the holiday) down to my local scrap metal dealer and he weighs it all for me. I know instantly if its overweight.
I usually over him a fiver (he always refuses) but I think its cheaper than a fine from VOSA and the points aswell.
Worth considering if you arent sure if you are within the law.
