Off to the Lleyn Penisular via the A55 at the end of the week. Previously just stopped in laybys, but would like to know if any of the services along the way (and on the way back!) are a/ not hilly and b/ suitable to tow and turn around in with a caravan?
Llanddulas petrol staion and the 55 diner next to it are not really easy for manouvering a towed caravan, although can be done. There is a big layby near there though.
Just looked at map and we used Halkyn (not Llanddulas) going to Bangor and Northrop on the way back. We were towing the caravan and did not have any problems.
Chester services is the last big one on the M56, there is another, probably Llanddulas, with a McDonalds that pleases the kids!! acces is ok but van parking is a small area, after that there's normal garages and Morrisons in Canarvon(no good at spelling!) and Asda in Pwthelli.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
