hello everyone, iv just got our first caravan and need a awning. i would like a full awning but dont have a clue as to which one to choose. my last folding camper had one with curtains and 2 doors which was ideal and i would prefer that. with 2 teenagers this is really a must have item. does anyone know which ones are the best. thanks all.

Isabella awnings seem to be generally considered the best, and to be fair you can see the quality when you walk past one on site. We however went for a Pyramid awning - perfectly functional 4 zip out panels, and either side of each panel could be used as a doorway.
we had a pyramid tuscanny and it was awful leaked like a colander we now have a dorema montana which is soo much better the fabric is heavier and an all round better quality
we also have a kampa rally which is great for weekends
it says in the book the awning size is 960. can i give and take or do i av to buy exact measurements if buying second hand .sorry for sounding thick but iv never bought items like this before.

We have a New England awning from Outdoor Revolution. It's our first one and we absolutely love it. We went for the carbon fibre poles. Friends who have been caravaning for 30 years are well impressed with the quality. New England is the entry level but it has the choice of 6 door openings. It stood up to a complete battering in Poole for 2 weeks this year - no leaks! Personally can't recommend them highly enough.
We spent a while looking for either second hand Isabella or Ventura on Ebay than gave up and bought a Dorema direct from the factory at the special online price. Its the Montana super lux with steel poles, we're very happy with it so far.
We have a dorema full awning, second hand and came with the caravan...really good quality and easy to put up. Most of the time we use a sunncamp ultima 390 which has 2 doors and simple curtains, its great, piece of cake to put up and gives us plenty of room for long weekends. They are very cheap, we got a brand new 2011 version for about £150. theyre very light too and far easier to transport than the big one,
hope that helps

Glossop Caravans have around 50 awnings erected in their awning showroom - I have never seeen this many in one place.Good place to look. We bought a new bradcot Modus from them but this is not a full awning.
Firstly I would double check the measurements in the handbook by measuring yourself - from the ground up and round the awning rail and back down to the ground on the other side. Our handbook gives a measurement that is 20cm bigger than the measurement. We've been away quite a lot in the last month and there are a lot of baggy, saggy too big awnings out there! We bought a second hand NR Pullman awning with annexe for well under £100 and bought one where the size we measured was at the top end of the awning size ie: 875-900 and not 900-925. Fits really well.
HI ON THE ABBEY SITE THE MEASUREMENTS FOR MY VAN S AWNING WOULD BE 9.44 M. WHAT SIZE WOULD I NEED IN THE DOREMA SITE PLEASE. IM LOOKING NOW DEFFO FOR FULL AWNING AND THANKYOU FOR ALL THE GREAT REPLIES .ITS SO CONFUSING!
