As I cannot create a new topic I thought I'd use this really old one.
Can all you helpful people out there advise on what they know would be the cost of a weight plate upgrade.
Did see one post from a number of years back saying £50 but the poster did not say which manufacturer.
I do know that Elddis in the first year of ownership do a free upgrade, but would like to know what other manufacturers charge.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Never heard of this before, do you need to do anything to the caravan to upgrade it? Excuse my ignorance but if not, why was it not higher rated in the first place?
Thanks Flat at, thanks kind of the figure I would have thought it would have been around.
Colin, I believe it is not at it's highest rating because they don't want people filling it with everything they can think of and there is no leeway.
I have had a 32kg aircon unit fitted and although not at the top of the limit if I accidentally put a tad extra wine in it on the way back from France I would like a bit more of a cushion.
My problem I have is with Adria, the cost(I would get a chair for this bit!) is an eye watering £162 including VAT.

Mine was 950Kg, dealer told me that it was to attract owners of smaller cars. We needed a motor mover, we both have bad backs, and suitable battery fitted, which would have left very little payload. Nothing needed to be changed on the 'van, however I did upgrade the tyres to commercials when the old ones got to 7 years old
You can't just upgrade,it depends on your axle rating. My caravan had a mtplm of 1354kg but the axle is 1500kg.
It cost me £70 for Lunar to upgrade to 1495kg,it took about 6 months and lots of phone calls. This was about 4/5 years ago.
I believe you can do it yourself with a blank plate and metal stamps, but like I said check your axle rating
