We are looking a windbreak that will stand up to a reasonably strong wind, but preferably not one that is secured with guy ropes. The multi coloured ones are not what we are looking for at this time.
We have looked at this website and also this one, but the prices are a bit on the high side.
Can any one offer some suggestions/ Thanks.
They really look lovely, but a tad to expensive for us. I'm rather new to the world of windbreaks - just bought a cheapo £14.95 one from Netto with a canopy so i can use the Cadac underneath it if it looks a bit showery. I'm afraid it's got guy ropes and is not exactly the height of fashion. If I can work out a way of putting it up without guy ropes then I'll let you know. The best sort of thing I've seen so far is something like this to use on each pole. If I did this I would need to try and cut a slit in the retaining metal band for the material to pass through. Just a thought.
We have had the blue diamond ones for 5 years now and they are still in good condition. They do stand up well to wind and we don't use guy ropes on them but in really strong wind they should be taken down. Not sure how deep the spikes go into the ground though lol.
------------- Always Kate unless Jay is looking over my shoulder :) x
We have two blue diamond windbreaks and we use them on the pitch if its windy and on the beach. They will stand up to some pretty strong winds if you hammer the poles down well but we will add a couple of our own guys if its particularly windy.
these are for supporting windbreaker poles and cost about £2 30 each from caravan shops, they look well made and should last so could be a good investment

We have one of these they are good it means you can put your windbreaker poles in deeper with much less effort.

Sue.
Hi. Can you use these with thinner steel poles? i.e. Is there some sort of retailer screw in the hole where the pole sits?
Having seen several lovely windbreaks stolen over the years, we only use cheap ones around our pitch, I carry a long cold chiself & drive it into the ground to make the holes for the windbreak poles nice & deep. Ours doesn't go anywere, the only problem can be drawing the poles out when we're packing away.
We're always looking out for new poles but no one seems to sell them.
We have one of these with the canopy. Haven't used it yet, but we are hoping to be able to use the cadac underneath it if it gets showery. Just £14.99. Got ours from Netto, but available here (and other places) also.
