Hi this hasnt been mentioned but is anyone else FED UP WITH THIS horrible weather. Been out about 5 times this year so far and most of em wet and windy. Our old dog cant walk too far and imagined sitting outside van in sun, watching world go by.Long term looks as mixed as well.Happy travels!
Went out to Wareham Forest just before Easter and the weather was great. MayDay B.H weekend at Conkers was good too. February Half Term was reasonable for the time of the year - a bit showery at times, but on the whole not too bad - it certainly didn't keep us in.. Couldn't do Spring B.H. at the end of May - just too busy this time. I don't think it's been too bad on the whole. We're out for four and a half weeks during late July and August so are hoping for the best. It's the UK though so we'll just take what we get.
Don't be dispondant about thr weather. Even the BBC admit, that although June is not looking too brilliant, forecasting the weather beyond about a week ahead stretches even the most experienced weather forecaster. Personally, I'd trade off June for good weather during the school holidays, but that's just me being selfish - sorry!! But whatever happens, if it rains we'll jump in the puddles and smile, if it's sunnny we'll slap on the sun cream.
Up here in Glossop its been horrible, cold, wet and windy! Since we came back from Norfolk at Spring Bank week we've hardly seen the sun - nothing is growing in the garden except the grass and between work and rain having a job to get the grass cut! We haven't used the bbq since April and not even sat out in the evenings as we usually do! Really fed up with it! My dad who lives in Derby (not too far away) has not had much rain at all!
What has happened to our weather?
cjh65 - we're in your neck of the woods for the first 2 weeks of August so hoping for some warm, dry weather then!
We don't count on nice weather and then we're never disappointed! We had gorgeous weather earlier in the year and over Easter and even this weekend with the odd torrential downpour there were lovely spells of quite warm sunshine and we sat out then and never had to take the dogs out for a walk in the rain.
I live in Norfolk and we've had fabulous weather for far too long resulting in official drought and making many of us hope that that wasn't our summer and that we will get more summer in august when the youngsters are off. Having said that, we have just had quite a wet weekend away in our caravan at the thetford club site. X

I shoul've added that yesterday turned out lovely after early rain and i actually took the dogs for a walk without having to wear a coat/jumper and i did sit out for a while in the lovely warm sunshine! But that was just half a day of good weather!
Today promises to be a dry, warm day though! The only one this week according to the forecast!
We don`t plan our trips now I am retired and manage to find plenty of nice weather with the odd not so nice day just by going off at the drop of a hat . Only ever found one site fully booked . Mind you , I avoid going when the school holidays are in full swing and never during the last two weeks of July and first two weeks of August . This spring was just perfect for holidaymakers , we have to pay for that somehow I suppose and we do really need the water .
We've just had our first weekend away and it rained pretty much constantly - we decided to take the view that it was helping us check the damp status of the van whilst it was still under warranty
We're off again in a fortnight and it looks as though the Met Office forecast is that things will just carry on as they are for the next few weeks!
The forecasters got it wrong again............ but this time for the better! Last night I checked weather forecast as I have a lot of washing to do and it said 16degs and heavy showers but this morning I've woken to blue skies and temps in the 20s - so I'll forgive the met office on this occasion!

Come North to the Costa del Rochdale we have had a fantastic summer so far, the weather forecast keeps telling me that it is raining but I just love sitting out in this sort of rain.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
We've been out 5 times and had lovely weather each time although we did have a bit of overnight rain once & also late morning when we were packing up on our last trip out at half term but we knew it was on the way so we took down the awning the night before.
Its been raining off & on this last week but we're hoping to get away at the weekend when according to Netweather 10 day forecast its going to be hot & sunny. Since switching to a caravan in April this year we've tended to go on C&CC meets so no booking required & if the weather is too bad we don't have to go, just wait for the next one we fancy.

Janus, spot on with the North West weather, we've just had four days where the forecast was 100% wrong. Friday very wet, windy all day, no it wasn't it was nice. Saturday wet all day, nope, nice. Sunday wall to wall sunshine, nope cloudy with a cool breeze. Today rain with sunny spells, well not really, sunny and warm with light cloud and it's still warm tonight.
