I have just changed the van for another Super Sirocco which has a fixed TV bracket. I am going to mount a permanent LCD flatscreen and would like to mount my sky satellite box permanently in the van under the bed locker where the satellite input comes in . I have been told I can get a remote sensor that would allow memto change channel without having to open the bed locker and point the remote at the sky box, bearing in mind the F plug satellite input into he box Wil be used and the RF out socket to connect the feed back to the plug behind the television, where would this sensor plug in?
Thanks

Hi if i remember rightly on ours the extra sensor plugs into the 2nd RF out socket on the back of the sky dish, but you must have the 2nd RF out socket powered, ithink its about 18v. This can be done from the setup menu. Otherwise it may connect inline with your RF out to the tv. but the instruction are basic and straight forward. We have a similar set up in our van where the box is under the front beds and the TV is half way down the van.

Thanks for the replies, Chris you seem to have a setup that is similar to the one I want to do. Have you secured the Skybox in any particulr way? I was thinking of using double sided Velcro tape.
Also does your television have an unbuilt DVD? The Elddis I have just got has a DVD but in to the Pioneer radio unit, I don't think this would be affected by putting the sat box in line as j haven't used it yet. If it does I may have to buy a TV / DVD combo unit?

You can pick up the magic eye kit in screwfix. It's powered by the rf out from the sky box. I think you would also need it plugged into the aerial input on the tv for it to work. I'll test it later when I get home to see if it works when not plugged into the tv for you.

Our Sat box just sits on the floor of the front bed box and is a tight fit. did not see the need to secure it. Our tv has freeview built in but no dvd player. We use a Cyclone mini media player connected to the tv along with a hard-drive unit with films and programs on for watching should it rain. We also take our sky card with us, but are considering purchasing a separate sky card for the van.

Again do not buy magic eye from PC world or maplins etc. i paid 99p with free delivery about a yr ago off Amazon.

Hi Mant, thanks for thatl. Mark could you please let me know after you have tried it thanks.

Just tried and it does work even if not plugged into the TV  aerial in, so you just need to run a short lengh of coax from the RF2 out on the sky box to digieye, on my one the infrared bit is on a lead about 1m long so you can position where you want.

Mine was £8.33 from screwfix, you can get it cheaper online but if you want to buy it in person thats the cheapest place I found.

Just seen this one, which has the coax pre wired so no need to get a bit of cable and two plugs.

Do you mean RF1 on the sky box? Should work, but RF2 will be available for use as well just plug into the digieye, thats how I use it, the RF2 feeds the digieye and the digieye feeds the TV upstairs via the aerial socket, you then tune the TV to the frequency that you set up when you installed the digieye.

So it depends on how you wire the TV in, I would have thought you'd be better to connect the sky box to the TV via Scart or HDMI (if the box and TV have HDMI) then connect your normal aerial to the TV aerial in, that way you can get sky and standard freeview at the same time.
