Hi, my name is Jo....My hubby, 2 boys and myself have the Caravan Bug! We have an old Swift Challenger (circa 1986 ish!!!) which was a bit of a bargain.....thought we would see if we like caravanning! I can safely say that yes, I think we do! We have only been away once, only 15 miles down the road!!! We live in Gt Yarmouth and we went to the Norwich C and C club site. Next weekend we are going a bit further to Thetford C and C club site and can't wait!!
I am sure we will be using this forum lots!!!

hi *waves* this site's unbelievable, anything you need to know is here somewhere, even the things you didn't know you needed to know
it's been invaluable to us as relative novices. have a great time in your van.
We all start somewhere. We started much the same way as you, albeit with 1 child less at the time. A neighbour offered us a tatty old caravan for £50. I told him I'd give him £30 and we bought it. We only got two trips out of it as the car really wasn't man enough to tow it and it had a leak around the front window. Just after we had our youngest, we got a trailer tent which we all enjoyed, despite cutting a few trips short because rain was expected and we had no where to dry the tent out. About 5 years ago we got another caravan which as it turned out was another lemon, the biggest difference between that and the first one was the price, but nevertheless we did get a lot of use out of it (and a lot of jobs to do, fortunately I am pretty handy).
Just changed to a newer caravan again having looked at hundreds of them over the last few years, we decided the layout we wanted some time ago. Unfortunately, work pressures mean I am able to get any more than a few weekends in it this year, but at least it won't get worn out.
Welcome Jo & gregg. (No need to welcome leccyshep - already got two tents ). This site is informative, adictive and fun. You will get some excellent ideas from folk and no doubt you will buy the occasional bit of equipment which you will wonder however you managed without. Ask as many questions as you wish, there will usually be someone along soon to help answer it or give you their opinion. More importantly, enjoy the caravanning lark - we all do on here.
welcome to tin tent land, for a few days out go to kessingland site.two gates touching one to site and one to the zoo.if you don't mind the roar of lions.
Hi Jo, (almost) the best thing in the world is vanning; leave you to ponder what might be better. I have no doubt that the strength of our family is down to the time we spend together in our little white box - real quality time. Have lots of fun and keep posting.
Hi Jo and family! Welcome to UKCS. This is a very friendly site and you can ask any questions you need to - there will always be someone on here that knows the answer
