Diesel is down at all fuel stations in our area by 5p per litre over the last seven days. Thats a cut of 3.5%.
I did read last week in the paper that a barrel of oil was down slightly more than 10% so i feel we are still being ripped off, but at least a move in the right direction for the holiday season.
Anyone else have any thoughts?
I don't understand why Tesco price diesel/petrol differently at their stores. Surely they pay the same price for diesel/petrol regardless of which store its going to?

We have 5p promotion on at moment too
I have always wondered if price was to do by how far you were from Refinery
Doubt it. Ask those in Milford Haven! We've alwas found it as expensive in Pembrokeshire as anywhere else. We are £134.99 at Sainsbury/Asda at the moment (last time I went).
Ours recently went down 2p/litre - thats not 5p and certainly not 10p!
Come on Mr Tesco bring it down even further! You can afford it!
Yeah 3bn pre tax profit last year he can afford it
We all know that fuel prices always go up but very rarely do they come down by as much as they went up i.e they go up 10p they might come down by 4/5p but never the full 10p

It's not just Tesco, Shell petrol stations differ in price even in the same area. The one nearest to me is currently charging £1.37.9 for diesel - the one a mile away in the other direction is £1.38.9 and the one the far side of town is £1.40.9! So how do they work that out then? Same fuel, same town, why the difference?
BP is worse though, round here it's £1.45.9 - needless to say I don't go there!

Its only gone down so ready to bang it up for holiday season as it always does
Asda are cheapest in our area but they've run out of diesel! We drove from East Dorset to Southampton today & the highest price was 146.9 & the lowest was 138.9. We managed to get 5p off a litre through Tesco on Thursday but still having to spend over £30 to get hubby to work & our weekend away,
I remember the days when we put £5 in & that did the daily commute & weekend run-around!
tesco have just put theirs up to 139.9 , in fact all 3 local stations are charging that now , ive noticed however the difference between diesel and petrol is now only a couple of pence round us.
Is there an organisation (such as OfCom) that regulates petrol garages? There must be someone to vent our feelings to (other than the Government, who do nothing).
