I find myself wanting to stop after about an hour of driving as its so tiring and I need to get a coffee and stretch my legs. I think I concentrate that much I feel like I've actually got the caravan on my back, like a snail carrying its home!!! lol
I'm I being too soft?
I would love to go to Cornwall but at this rate it would take me about 3 days to get there!
I can only do about 11/2 hours then I need a leg stretch, it dosnt matter at all if you only do 30 mins and stop, as long as you get there safe and sound that's all that matters :) I don't think even if I could I would do more than 2 hours, think you need a break.
I do a couple of hours and then stop, if Anne is driving she does an hour at the most and then stops.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

Same here! What's the point of rushing anyway? You're on holiday!!
We are off later today, and I'm driving today and where we are going is just under two hours away, but I will stop halfway and have a stretch, part of the fun for me is taking the van, so if it takes three hours for me to get there instead of two I don't care, just take my time enjoy it, and arrive calm :)
Can't wait to go
Donna :)
Depends on the road conditions and how I feel. Four hours on an easy drive with no points of stress such as complicated junctions or heavy traffic. 1.5 hours or so on a more difficult drive especially in bad weather such as heavy rain. I always add about 50% to what the routefinders calculate as driving time so that I don't have to push to meet ETA's. Time for a cup of tea on the way is always a handy but the most useful thing is to be able to put the seat back and have a quick kip and relax especially when driving long distance in Europe.

i'm the total opposite, I like to get there in one go ( no stops) i always try and set off early as i tend to be bound by a time schedule but i refuse to rush. if we go in a convoy then i tend to get left behind so i just toodle along within my confort zone.
I know just how you feel as i never seem to be able to take the cv out of my sight ( ive begun to wonder if i watch it to much )
i drive long distances all week work related so my body allows me to do most journeys in one go.but on the same note if i feel like stopping i do. but no more than a 15 min break.
you need to stop as and when you feel you should stop for what ever reason.
as like many caravaners why not plan your route with stops somewhere nice and make the stop part of your holiday. wether it be for lunch toilet needs excersise or just because you want to.
I've always driven long distances, and the tachograph rules say four and a half hours, so that's what we usually do. Of course, the bladder has the final say these days.
