Has anyone bought these to replace the original pole fittings on their awning? It looks like we need 5 for our porch awning and at £12.95 for 3 I want to make sure it'll be worth it. They appear to be easier to work with.

It's funny you should mention this. Since looking at the video about the Magnum yesterday - the one I posted the link for, I saw something that I liked the look of. More of that in a mo.
I'm really surprised that the awning doesn't already come with the Isafix fittings. The only thing I heard was that the Isafix fittings come in two different sizes. If you look on the Isabella site it says they fit all awning poles since about 1989. See here - so you should be OK when you have got the right size. I use Ventura Fixus clamps on my awning that work well too.
My question is about the other clamps on the end of the poles in the video that take the place of the normal wing nut. Basically, what are they called and where do you get them from? Anyone know? The ones I mean are the fittings instead of the wing nuts at 2min 3sec in the following video. See here. They look very similar to the Ventura Fixus clamps (here), but they are black. The Ventura Fixus fit in the middle of the pole - I wonder if they would fit at the end clamps too?

we sell lots of these to our customers now who wish to update their awning to the latest Isabella gadgets.
when we set up our awnings for them for the last couple of years they have been a god send, just so much easier and quicker.
they dont tent to slide either, so we once their up we never really need to retension them inless a customer has had a play
Yes we have replaced all but 3 on the poles for our magnum and they are really well worth the expense. It can be hard to get the old ones off but having these on makes the tensioning so much easier. With the old ones I used to tension while my wife tightend up the wing nuts. Now it's a one man job.
hi, back from first weekend away in the van. Went well, learnt alot. The wind was a nightmare yesterday, had to get awning down asap.
Awning went up fine, we've colour coded the poles now but will definetly be replacing the wing nuts with the isafix system. According to Isabella the Minor only needs 5, I presume they just go on the poles that are extendable (sorry, I know that sounds dim but really not up to speed on awning yet!!)

Glad everything went well. I find the wing nuts a pain and have replaced ours with Ventura Fixus. I'm sure the Isofix will be better for the telescopic poles. If you have any end of pole clamps, like these, they are best replaced by GripOn screw fitting (Isabella code 900060138) according to Ben from Jacksons. I'm going to pop down and get some for our Kampa Fiesta sometime in the week.
Hi David, thanks for the tip and the code for the gripOn screw fitting. We love the Isabella Minor for weekend use but did see a few nice Kampa porch awnings that we liked. Sounds awful but I didnt like the look of them online but in the flesh they are much nicer. Just been looking at the pics thread, yours is a Kampa which model is it? I liked the look of the Rally 360?? think that was it as had full length mesh door options which might useful for our France trip.

Hi Savanne. Ours is a Kampa Fiesta lightweight awning. We do tend to like a lot of space, so always like our full awning for anything longer than a week. For a few days we like the Fiesta. It gives us loads of room and is easy to put up in our opinion. Style is not to everyone's taste, but we love it.
Plenty of room for stuff: (sorry about the old photos)
that looks perfect David, do any of the windows or doors have mesh on them?
The windows have mesh (if I remember rightly) but the door doesn't. We would tend to take our large awning to France (because of the room we want), but an advantage of the Fiesta over some lightweight porch type awning is that on a hot day, you can zip out the whole of the front, and both sides too. I wouldn't want to be hemmed in when it's hot. Not sure what you can zip out of some of the tunnel/ lean to type lightweight porches.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
