This must be the daftest question ever.
We are getting our new to us van and it has lounge area that will make up to a double bed. But it has a chest of drawers. So when made into a bed do you lay head or feet either side of the chest or crosswise next to it.
What about bedding how do you put a sheet on it.
Sorry told you it was silly but never seen a bed made up
Thanks

And turn the cushions around so the leg rolls are against the walls or they will play havoc with your back.

We lay crossways and take a summer and winter quilt, put one under us and one on top depending what the temperature is like.

We lift the drawers on to the floor and use a super king size goose down duvet on top with a sleeping bag opened up to lay on.
The slats just go over the drawers, some won't

We always turn all the cushions upside down when making up our double bed. Fits together better that way and no bumps in the bed.

I just use a mattress topper pad with a duvet cover on it. Evens out all the bumps and acts like a bottom sheet. Rolled up, secured with a bungy and stuffed in the wardrobe during the day------------- Alan in New Zealand

What layout is it?
We had a 2002 Elddis firestorm 505 and the layout had a rear dinette that we kept up as a permanent bed, it always seemed smaller than a double bed. We never made the bed up at the front, I don't think the drawers would've pulled out but never tried.

Yes it is a double dinette but our son will sleep at the back so we will have to make the front bed up. Thanks though

The top comes off our chest leaving a lower chest with two draws as we have more than enough storage space we store the top in the garage and use the lower chest as a coffee table giving us a huge bed, we also turn our cushions over and use super king size bedding.

The top part comes off ours, but weve given up making the bed up as a double, if it's late and wine has been flowing we just leave them as singles, I actually prefer it, no climbing over each other if we need the loo.

we lie crossways and leave drawers in situ. Use a sleeping bag underneath a thin foam mattress (which comes with zip on cover so no sheets required with normal double duvet.

We leave the drawers in situ as well, dont fancy a hernia from shifting them every night. We use two kingsize duvets, both with covers on, one underneath and one on top. Its much easier to make the bed that way and we find it comfortable.
