Well folks i feel ready to talk about our awful experience away last weekend for the easter break, was so excited as i have upgraded our van and was so excited to go away and show it off.
We booked into a site in Co fermanagh, we had stayed there a weekend last year near end of season and thought it was a gorgeous site, ticked all the box,s! So our friends decided they would join us! so all arrived on the thur and set up, all was well, friday day trip away wee BBQ for dinner again all great! one of our friends has a 4 yr old and he was having a ball, so many wee friends and parents popped over from time to time for wee chat, couldnt be better, 2 famlies next to us so friendly.
Then saturday came we decided after wee easter hunt for kids we would just go a walk to marina and have a wee easy day, for that evening the husbands got the BBQ out, lite the wee camp fire( wee tiny bucket bout foot off ground) just to sit round and have a wee glass of wine and chill, so as we all sat having a natter, over comes a 3 guys well in there 60,s really drunk and starts giving us dogs abuse about the wee camp fire, so we quietly just let them have their say and agree that we would let it go out, but they deceided that a lecture was needed with some choice words, and of course the 4 yr old is sitting with us! now i mean i was a fronted by this, they returned to this one guys van( which app he is a long stay van, and has a wee notion he owns that part of the site) or so the night watchman told us, and tried to reasure us not to worry about him, but the damage was done, i just wanted to leave there and then. so we retired to bed 10.30! discussted!
next morning my friend noticed a few wee bits and pieces missing belong to him and the child, then wee guy that emptys bins etc told him that the old guy had all his stuff in his van, so my friend is very angry at this and goes down, opens door and there on bench is all his stuff!
we all reported it to owner and she couldnt be nicer and wanted us to stay but there was no way i could stay a moment longer, the other people were appalled at the whole going ons and we left, all 3 vans, plus another wee elderly couple left too, over getting abused ny this man too! behavier like that is not accepted esp a man that age, well that was my easter break cut 2 days short ruined and a waste of money, needless to say we will not go back nor recommend it to any of our friends, i just hope no one ever has to go through what we went through ever.
The man should have been asked to leave, not you guys leaving.
I would write to the site owners/ head office and let them know about the situation. I would also ask for a refund for the two days paid for and not used.
Maybe there was something wrong with the man, Altheimers (sp?) can carry nasty behaviour. But that is just finding excuses for bad behaviour where there are none. It's unacceptable, and I personally would make a loud noise about it.
No this man has nothing wrong with him at all! the site owner is awear of the behavior of him and there excuse was that he is a long stay resident and that after the holidays they were gona go and have a word with him about this, which i thought was a lame excuse, i mean if that was a young man causing all that trouble, the police would have bein called and he would have bein off the site in a flash!
the thing is as we explained, times are hard enough and someone like him who is loosing them valued business is not good, that was 8 ppl in total now that def wont be back! and god only knows how many more there is that they are not awear of,
Was the worst weekend of my life, and am not ashamed to say i cried the whole way home, my OH just said forget them but am just a soft person i cant do that easily,

yes i hope so too, OH has booked us into a wee site up in Co Armagh for weekend, owner sounds lovely and its a wee family run site, so looking forward to that.

yes it is just the one man! the other 2 guys had just arrived that saturday evening and they got chatting and started drinking together! well thats what we were told in the office, they said that they were not regulars and would not be back, all though to be fair they were not as rude as the old guy,
As my mum would say its behind me now so move on and put it down to experience,lol,

Yes thats exactly what i said, its near Kesh, in Co Fermanagh,
I know how you are feeling only the second time away with our caravan we recieved some abuse from a group of 3 drunk men that made me want to sell up and go back to staying in hotels (of a price rifraf like them cant afford!). It was so bad that I didnt feel safe staying in the caravan that night and drove home returning to the site the next day. We are returning to the site but if it happens again the caravan will be for sale!

gosh thats awful, is your caravan a static one? i will never go back to that site ever, there is alot of really nice sites that we have already bein to, supose there is always ONE BAD APPLE in the bunch, i hope you enjoy your next trip away, its awful how some people can make us feel. :)

Thats really bad, just by not doing anything the site owners are condoning the behaviour. it sounds as though the police could have been involved regarding the abuse and also the fact they were "gang handed", intimidation, verbal abuse...in fear of your safety. this type of behaviour is deplorable.
I really hope you have a fantastic weekend at the other site although it will take time to shake off your bad experience.
