  I know our caravan had been well looked after but I am a worrier and when were away in the van I recon at least 4 or 5 times a day i think oh the floor feels soft take my shoe of and check espcily near the door. it got to the stage hubby was convinced it was becomeing some sort of ocd.  we were just doing bits in teh van today and of came my shoe again so i could see if the floor was soft near the door.  hubby decied to prove it was all fine and riped back the carpet. well the last owner has put all my worries to rest. our vans old so has a solid floor but the owner had repaied the door section and then allso fix an aluminum sheet there aswell. so there no why its soft lol.    the vans only had 2 owners before me the lady who gave it us ahd it 12 months and didnt use it so realy its one used owner and you can tell they realy looked after her and now i know i can keep my shoes on all day now lol

sound a bit like theres some delamination there .ours is the same im not repairing though as ive put it in for p/x for a new van

not the end of the world if its just spongy get it looked at under the van and as long as its sound and not totally rotten.  just remove carpet and lay Laminate click lock floor. the extra weight will not be oticed as its spread even over the whole of van.

and it will look smart and new. the weight of carpet alone will shock you.

 dont think i made myself clear its not sponge and before we got it there must have been some rott but its all been fixed plus hes allso put a sheet of aluminum on top aswell the past owner didnt do things by hafe lol

Wendy i read your post and you were pretty clear to me :)  You were saying that you constantly worried that there was delamination but once you saw the floor all your worries disappeared :)
