Hi there - we have recently bought a Swift Challenger 565 (2011 model) and have now added the optional wrap around seating as we felt the double bed at the front was just too neat when the drawer unit was in place.  However, we went over to fit the seating yesterday and were baffled by the lack of support under the wrap around section once the bed slats are extended - there is nothing to hold the cushion in place other than the strapping - no slats under this part of the bed.  Can anyone explain how this area is supported as I'm sure with any weight put on the cushion here it would not be long before the strapping was ripped away from the wall? I'm really surprised there is nothing to give support as Swift do allocate this area as 'double bed' when quoting sizes. (Sizes given in their specifications state bed size without drawer unit).  Any info appreciated.  Thanks.

Thanks - I've done that too - just covering all bases in the hope of getting an answer.

Thanks again.

Sounds to me like there is a panel missing that should take the place of the drawers. We remove our drawers when we make our bed up to make the bed bigger and it is solid underneath and the slats concertina up underneath, the straps you have will just be where the slats are fastened to the wall and as you say will not take any weight and will cause damage if they are pulled of the wall.

Yes I think you're right about the missing panel - I will contact dealer next week to enquire about this.  It would make perfect sense to have a panel to replace the drawer unit, and then the cushions simply sit on top of this.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Our van (2008 Sterling/Swift) has a plywood panel fixed over the slats that stays in place when the chest is removed. Our 1998 van had the same. Odd that yours does not have that I would say.
