Hi, I have just joined your group, I am a 77year old Showman, and have lived in and worked with caravans my whole life, In recent years my son has been involved in making and restoring large Showmens living wagons. He has recently been given the job of restoring a Knowsley Princess caravan, I believe it to be 1960s but cant find any history or info. on these trailers any help would be gratefully received, Regards Tim Barker
Not a brand I'm familiar with, despite my vintage years, but then there are so many long defunct manufacturers.
Anything that pre-dates the internet can be challenging to find info on, not a great deal of info gets retrospectively added to the WWW, except by a smattering of enthusiasts.
A quick Google did throw up a few links that may start you on your way, it's often a case of gathering a tiny little bit of info here and there until you have a fuller collection that is of some real use.
Might be worth contacting the Retro Camping Club, if you haven't already done so. (https://www.retrocampingclub.co.uk/) They have quite a few knowledgeable people who know about earlier caravans. I must admit yours isn't one I have heard of.

Thank you all for your replies, I am no wiser, but I will keep trying. The internet is so vast and all knowing that it is hard to imagine that you cant locate something like this. We will carry on with the restoration, and I will post some pictures when it is finished, Thanks again Tim

Bit of a strange assertion Monty. Most of the worlds history as we know it is on the internet, including stuff thats above 25/30 years old.
If anyone has one of these old crates, it'll be documented somewhere.
Thanks to all for your kind words, I believe these were bespoke models, built for Travelling Showmen, I have found two owners that bought them new, in the sixties. The build quality is excellent, and the varnished wood interiors is typical of the Showmans style. We are well into our next project, which is a chassis up refurb of a Bluebird Sun Parlour.
