Hi peeps, I'm hoping that some sympathetic ukcs member will be able to help with this as I don't really want it to keep flying about🙄The trouble is our island bed and how to stop it flying forwards,(no idea if it also flies backwards too as we've no way of telling when we're towing🤦), when we're on the move. I don't know if there's some little gizmo somewhere that we haven't found yet that can stop this happening or not so please.....help.....anyone🤔
erm never heard of one person having that issue, so maybe it means less heavy right foot from the driver? in the mean time how about a strap over the matteress to the frame holding it all still?
Well I'm happy to report that dear hubby doesn't have a heavy right foot or he'd be getting an earful from me😂Our van is a 2020 model which we purchased in September last year when it was given a full service as part of the sale👍Hubby has also already done his usual pre-trip maintainence getting ready for the off next weekend. Quite liking the idea of a strap across the bed to keep it still though👍
Never having had the luxury of an island 'fixed' bed before, and with this one doing that extending & retracting thing, I don't know which starting position is the best🤷♀️We've only been away once with the new van for a 3 night try out and the journey was only a couple of hours away but our next trip is at least a 7hr one to 'look forward to'😂
Just had another thought,(be giving myself a headache with all this thinking😂), and will check out my latest idea today when we pop over to the storage site to bring the aquaroll home for sterilising so...watch this space peeps😉
We travel with ours fully retracted. Make sure that the bottom part of the bed is locked behind the receptor on the bed frame - ours is just a little lip that the bed sits behind to stop any unwanted motion.
Cracked it peeps💃💃💃Thank you for your help🥰Took me a mo to suss out why it wouldn't stay retracted & then had a lightbulb moment when I realized it was because the bolster thingy at the top end of the bed was stopping it🤦♀️Once I folded that forwarda/flat, it stopped moving👍Well the bed base at least didn't move but.....the flippin' mattress can still fly forwards😂So, may have to resort to some sort of strap gizmo to keep that in place on the road🙄Thanks again peeps because my worry had been that some crucial part of the bed could have got damaged flying back & forth whilst travelling and I have soooo yearned for a fixed bed,(you know what I mean😉), for years.🫠 Roll on the weekend when we'll be off to wonderful Cornwall💃💃
Why the Flamenco dancers, you said Cornwall not Spain.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Really surprised that it moves around.......our's stays firmly in place and doesn't move more that a few inches during travel!
For the metal base to stay in place use power magnets. To stop mattress moving using velcro strap stitched onto the underneath of the mattress so it wraps around the central bar.
