we were away this weekend and was sat thinking of something extra to do.
now hows about an awning skirt with pockets in to put things in like shoes,frizby,kids bits n bobs etc,because if its not available im going to have a go at making one.
they make something for tents that resembles this and of course there are those tall pocket hangers too for tents and also hang over doors. We use one in our awning and one in the FC bathroom but a low level one for the rail would also work for your bits and bobs.
Sorry don't have a picture, but yes did this. But we have it set so that the weigh is supported by the ground. It means long pockets and when on a slope stuff goes deep. The only problem is we sometimes had the pockets filling with drips when it rained. So would use a mesh next time and not put magazines in it.
Test a corner of your skirt for the stitching. before you do any thing drastic.

Sounds a good idea to me, I've seen various hanging storage but not a skirt/hanger combined, at least it'd fit into the skirt channel and you wouldnt have to fix press studs to the caravan which look horrible when the awning's not on.
Hi, sounds good idea with all the extra storage,Shoes/boots bits and bobs,keeps them all neatly in one area, For my self the down side is,the more storage ,more things you put in them, all adds to total weight to van when towing, as quite a few vanners on here have found,when they had a clear out to go for service,and checked their weight found that they were a good bit over weight, I know the storage unit will weigh next to nothing, but its all the extras that they carry, a wee bit here, a wee bit there,it all adds up. And like most caravanners(my self included) when visiting the accessory shop, Oh!!! thats a handy tool/gadget,or bit of kit for van.when I did that, I found that my van was over weight by 100k that was a shock,as I dont have big payload. Now I carry all the extras in storage box in the car,the storage hanger is good idea,as long as you have a good payload ,or put in car when packing up.Not suggesting for a moment that you or most of us are running over loaded,its just a word of caution as its all the small things that you never think about that adds the extra weight.

seems like a good idea for there always seems to be loads of bits and bobs floating about the awning that could do with tidying up,especially if you have an untidy grandaughter like me
