Hi there All
As we are virgin caravaners can anyone tell us if it is possible to use a slow cooker in a caravan? Sausages etc on the bbq do get a bit boring and would be lovely to make a slow cooked chilli/ bol/ curry to be ready on return from a day out??
Thanks in advance

We've taken ours with us & it's lovely to come back shattered from a day out to a good cooked meal that just needs dishing up. We use it for all sorts - full joints, casseroles, chilli etc...------------- Vanessa

Of course ! Why not ? Lots of people use them. With an oven, hob, steamer, Cadac and a slow cooker, we cook all the stuff we normally cook at home and more ! Not boring at all. We love cooking while we are away. The only thing we do differently is to cook smelly stuff on the Cadac outside eg fry ups, roasts, paella etc. I would probably leave the slow cooker in the awning all day though - just to keep the smell away from the bedding etc. Last summer on the Isle of Wight I even saw someone with a deep fat fryer in their awning !

We always take the slow cooker, its ideal. If you have an external power point, the awning is the best place for it and the steamer as well of course!

If you're stuck for ideas you can buy the "Slow Cooker Cook Book" which has some lovely recipes in it. Lakeland sell it or you should be able to get it from any good book shop.
We've used our slow cooker when camping in the tent and plan to use it in the caravan too.
