For actually cleaning the toilet bowl, I would recommend you do not use bleach or regular household toilet cleaners.
Thetford do a bowl cleaner, and a plastic cleaner. More expensive than bleach, but will not damage your seals etc. A bottle of each will last at least 2 years, so not that expensive.
i use milton for ours.cleans it well.no problem with seals.i know thetford have recommended milton for the header tank and that has seals.adsa's own is cheapest.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Its a false economy to say that you wish to avoid buying the right kind of cleaner for the vans bits and pieces. caravans are not built in the same way, or with the same materials as we are used to at home. So, in addition to the potential seal damage there is the possibility of damage to the actual loo. Cost of repairs outweighs doing the job right

We use Ecover loo cleaner. Pretty sure that doesn't damage anything and doesn't cost a fortune. That's it - we use nothing else. .. oh yes we do ! - we put that green stuff in the poo tank.
Milton fluid we periodically use for cleaning the aquaroll etc.
